   VanniTech once again proved its high-tech competency through VanniVision ‘06
 

The third batch graduates of VanniTech exposed their high-tech proficiency to the outside world through VanniVision ’06, a two-day annual advanced technological exhibition, held on the 22nd & 23rd of September, 2006. Approximately 800 visitors from local and international NGOs, government departments, business establishments, local schools private educational institutes, general public, and media personnel gathered to view this exhibition amidst turbulence nature.
 

There were 21 high-tech products including field deployable projects implemented for local and international entities and education department showcased with efficient demos. Significantly web server setup, internet and intranet with LAN, domain setup, automated traffic control system for city traffic monitoring unit, wireless text message transmitting & receiving system, dynamic display system for transport service of Tamileelam, automated changeover system, stock control software solution for a local business entity, payroll system for a multi business company , library web application for TR TEC sponsored by London technical education center and websites of Tamileelamtourist.com and Trincocommercialonline.com were demonstrated for visitors.
 

The designers of the best projects in the fields of Computer Communications & Networking, Database Application Development, Electronics and Web Based Application Development were awarded in the name of “Vanni Vision Award” by their project supervisors for their outstanding performance and the owners of other stalls were honored with the letter of appreciation by the registrar of the institute. All the contributors were felicitated by the administration of VanniTech for the great success of VanniVision ’06.

“I could realize that the graduates of VanniTech and the institute would definitely play a major role in the development of advanced technology of our motherland by their high-tech expertise and dedication” said Mr. Kulendran, the secretary of Pradeshiya Saba, Kilinochchi. “I was astonished to see the excellent creations of VanniTech graduates in this exhibition” mentioned Mr. Shankar, IT Admin, Oxfam.

About VanniTech

VanniTech is an Advanced Technological Institute, and a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in Kilinochchi, Sri Lanka. The objective of VanniTech is to generate high-tech employment in the war torn North-East Sri Lanka and prepare the people in the region to compete in the global market. To meet this objective, VanniTech is offering university-level courses in software development, electronics, and computer communications in English medium. VanniTech instructors include local professionals with degrees from highly reputable universities around the world and international volunteers. VanniTech is founded and funded by ITTPO.
