    VanniTech Provides Technical Assistance to Relief Efforts

 

VanniTech, Kilinochchi – January 23, 2005: Vanni Institute of Technology (VanniTech) joins hands with local Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in providing relief aid towards the Tsunami affected by way of technical assistance.

 

VanniTech provided a software solution to manage the medical supplies of Centre for Health Care (CHC), a local NGO that coordinates medical relief efforts for the Tsunami affected in the North-East of Sri Lanka.

The software solution, which was provided free of charge and delivered within a short span of one week, was a medical inventory tracking system that aided CHC in managing the medications and other things they received.

“We are grateful for the endeavor by your pleasant development team who tirelessly worked to meet our requirement and completed within the specified time frame” said Dr. Moorthy, Program Coordinator, Centre for Health Care, “Your Medical Inventory Tracking System has helped us in reducing our time and efforts in managing the donations, purchase and dispatch of medications and other items.”

VanniTech also provided technical assistance to Tamils Rehabilitation Organization (TRO), by creating automated forms for their information gathering from the affected areas and welfare centers.

In addition to the technical assistance to the NGOs, VanniTech donated SLR 200,000 towards the relief efforts.
