The high-tech expertise and resources of VanniTech were shared among the school students and teachers from remote locations of Vanni region once again through an IT awareness program “Introduction to Information Technology”, completely driven by its 4th batch of students during the first quarter break of academic year 2006/2007. It was conducted for six days from February 21 – 28, 2007 in the institute premises. 06 schools from Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi educational zones were covered and 234 students and 09 teachers benefited by this program.

The third batch graduates of VanniTech exposed their high-tech proficiency to the outside world through VanniVision ’06, a two-day annual advanced technological exhibition, held on the 22nd & 23rd of September, 2006. It was opened for visitors by the chief guest Mr. S. Thangan, deputy leader of political wing Tamileelam by cutting the ribbon on the first day of this event. Approximately 800 visitors from local and international NGOs, government departments, business establishments, local schools private educational institutes, general public, and media personnel gathered to view this exhibition amidst turbulence nature.

Kilinochchi. – March 10, 2006: Vanni Institute of Technology (VanniTech),
an advanced technological institute in the heart of Vanni, held the convocation
of its second batch of graduates, who have successfully completed their one year
high-technological study programs such as Computer Communications and Networking,
Database Applications Development, Electronics and Web Based Applications Development
with Project Management and Business English to uplift the standard of the war-torn
North-East region with their expertise, here in Kilinochchi. 42 students with 21 females
hailing from several districts of the North-East of Sri Lanka graduated. The graduates
received their Honors and Diplomas at the convocation ceremony held on March 10, 2006,
at 10:30 AM, at the Kilinochchi Cultural Hall. Among them 9 graduates were honored with
honors degree for their outstanding academic performance by Professor Ms R Mageswaran,
Rector of Vavuniya Campus, University of Jaffna.

three-day high-tech exhibition conducted by VanniTech, drew
more than 2500 visitors making it the biggest high-tech event
in the North-East region of Sri Lanka since the signing of the
ceasefire agreement three years ago. The exhibition, held between
the 18th and 20th of May at the VanniTech campus, drew visitors
from various districts of Batticaloa, Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Trincomalee
and Vavuniya that included officials from the Education Ministry
of the North-East Province and the Jaffna University.
