  Academic

The institute follows quarter-based academic system. An academic year consists four quarters. Each quarter consists of 11 weeks. There will be 2 weeks of break between quarters.

Academic Programs

VanniTech offers four academic programs and they are:

  • Database Application Development (DAD)
  • Web based Application Development (WAD)
  • Computer Networking and Communications (COM)
  • Electronics (ELE)

Courses

The institute offers several courses under each program. Further details of the courses could be obtained from the Academic Catalog.

Grading System

Grading is based on U.S.A GPA system. Students are assessed on a continuous basis throughout the course period. At completion all the courses are graded on a letter grade basis (A+ to F). Several components, such as weekly quizzes, midterm exams, assignments, project and final exam, contribute to the final grade of the courses. Then Grade Point Average (GPA) is calculated based on the course’s credits and the grade. The GPA serves as an overall measure of a student academic performance.

Minimum GPA

A student is expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.25 at any time. Student who doesn’t maintain the minimum GPA can be expelled from the institute.

Graduation Requirements

In order to graduate, the student needs to obtain/maintain the minimum GPA of 2.25 throughout the program, and he/she must obtain passing grade in all the core classes and final project.
