About TechShack:
TechShack, VanniTech's Employment Incubation Center,
was setup as a high-tech solutions center for the purpose
of training students and encouraging creation of employment.
The students are engaged in and exposed to business
operations and real world applications of technology,
which enables them to face real life situations utilizing
what they have been learning in classrooms and labs.
TechShack is managed by VanniTech and operates within
the VanniTech campus.
Since its inception, TechShack has been assisting
the local people with their basic computer hardware,
software and networking needs. It has created some
local customers notably UNDP and Oxfam offices in Kilinochchi,
which awarded TechShack the contract to setup their
computer networks and intercom PBX systems.
TechShack has provided database software solutions
to many local, government and international organizations,
a distributed database solution - Children Affected
by War Tracking and Reporting System to Tamils Rehabilitation
Organization (TRO), Projects Management System to Government
District Secretariat of Kilinochchi, Management System
to United Nations - World Food Programme (UN-WFP) are
few to name.
TechShack is also involved with basic computer training
for the local community with the UN's World Health
Organization requesting it to provide end-user training
for the employees of the local district hospital. TechShack
has also provide consultancy services to the Asian
Development Bank (ADB) funded NECORD (North East Community
Restoration and Development) office.
TechShack is involved in outsourcing services to international
companies. It would also help companies and individuals
to start their development center in Sri Lanka.
